The first in a series of free organ recitals held at St Catherine’s Church in Gorseinon has been described as outstanding success by organisers, with more than sixty people in attendance.
The recital held on 6 June 2017 was given by Carl Grainger, organist of the Welsh Sinfonia.
This latest recital series is the fourth to be held at St Catherine’s Church, Gorseinon. While the recitals themselves are free, a voluntary retiring collection is taken towards the continued development and maintenance of the church organ.
Martin Bell, Musical Director at St Catherine’s Church, said: ‘It is really encouraging to see the support for this exciting venture continuing to grow and we look forward to welcoming many more music lovers over the next few weeks.’
Rev Dr Adrian Morgan, Curate at St Catherine’s Church, added: ‘We are extremely fortunate to be able to attract such first class organists to Gorseinon. This latest programme in our Evening Organ Recital Series' is truly superb.’
