Explorers meet on a Sunday from 10.00am until 11.30am in the Church Hall.

At St Catherine’s we have a busy and vibrant ministry to children of all ages and their families.

Our Sunday morning Children’s Ministry is called Explorers. Why Explorers? Because the children coming to St Catherine’s will be exploring God’s word in the Bible, learning about the life of Jesus and how He can make a difference in their lives today. How will they be doing this? Through a mixture of interactive games, arts and crafts and fun songs.

Between now and Christmas, the Explorers team will be introducing the children to some of the key characters in the Bible and what we can learn from their lives. Amongst them we will be looking at Noah (who built a great big ark in the desert), Abraham (who was promised a child at the age of ninety), Joseph (and his technicoloured dream-coat), Moses (the baby who survived a trip down the river in a wicker basket) and Joshua (who brought down the walls of Jericho with nothing but a trumpet).

The Explorers team is made up of a group of twelve volunteers with a lots of experience in children’s work. They are excited to be working together to serve and bless the children of our Church family and the wider community.

Explorers meet every Sunday between 10am and 11.30am in the Church Hall, beginning with short visit from the Vicar before getting stuck into the week’s programme and fun activities. The children will join the grown-ups in the main Church building for the end of the service and, who knows, they may even teach them a thing or two about what they’ve discovered about God!

Families are encouraged and are very welcome to join the adults for the main service whilst their children are in Explorers. Children will need to be collected at 11.30am promptly, but everyone is welcome to stay for a cuppa afterwards to get to know each other.
