More than one hundred people from across Gorseinon came together today (2 March 2017) for a free Community Meal at St Catherine's Church in Gorseinon.
Organisers of the Meal-which include local residents, representatives from the local council and local supermarkets, as well as members from local churches across Gorseinon-have described the event as an overwhelming success.
The Curate of St Catherine's Church in Gorseinon, Reverend Dr Adrian Morgan, said: 'The event was truly inspiring. It brought a whole community together. People of every age, background and ability shared a meal together. People who might otherwise never have met left the meal as friends. That is something to celebrate.'
Dr Morgan added, 'None of this would have been possible without the help and support of some amazing people from across our community who have given of their time and talents in order to turn a dream into a reality. So I want to say a big thank you to everybody.'
Gower AM Rebecca Evans said: 'Huge congratulations to everyone involved in making the Community Meal at St Catherine's such an overwhelming success!'
Plans are already in place for another Community Meal next month, with most of the food having been donated already.
